AAPQ Conferences

Curation and Design Management
2015 + 2016 + 2017

How can professional associations move beyond traditional boundaries to reposition their role at the heart of today’s biggest challenges?

Les Interstices was invited by Quebec’s Association of Landscape Architects (AAPQ) to curate and manage the design of its annual conferences for 3 years in a row.

The intention was to address some of the most crucial challenges of the profession and its practices while situating them within the broader socio-ecological crises of our times and trends from around the world.

The first conference explored regenerative practices in landscape architecture and planning (Dégénération/Régénération), the second one explored the intersections between rural and urban landscapes (Les Rurbains), and the third one had a more open thematic approach, all situated in a context of planetary urbanization (World Design Summit).
